A National Memorial is a symbol of the nation's respect for the martyrs of the War of Liberation is situated at Savar. It is built with concrete but made of blood. There is a series of 7 towers which rise by stages to a height of 150 feet. The towers standing upright represent the 7 War Heroes. Not only that it bears the memory of millions of martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve independence of Bangladesh. The huge complex of the Memorial has covered an area of 126 acres of land. The moving sight of the complex is the several graves of the martyred freedom fighters. People coming from home and abroad stand in front of the grave and bow down their heads to show respect for the martyrs.
