It is located at Shere-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka. The famous American architect Lui I Kahn designed it. The President of the then Pakistan. Ayub Khan set up the foundation stone of Sangsad Bhaban in 1962. Its construction was started in 1964 and finally it was inaugurated in 1982. It is built of red bricks and concrete. It's a large building with an outstanding design and decoration. It’s have council room, mosque, entrance hall, office room, lounge of the ministers, dining hall, bank, telephone exchange and medical Centre. The main Bhaban is surrounded by a beautiful lake. The green trees has added to the beauty of this lake and the Sangsad Bhaban. So, people visit it to enjoy the beauty of it and its surroundings.
The name of our Parliament House is Jatiya Sandsad Bhaban.
